Mr. Mario C. Villanueva, President of Naga College Foundation, Inc. (NCF), introduced the two volumes of ‘Aramon Ta: Mga Kawat Kaidto’ to Mr. Patrick Gregorio, Chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), and Mr. Edward Hayco, PSC Commissioner, during an executive dialogue on June 17, 2026.

Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) Region V President Edgar C. Balasta, who was also present during the meeting, stated in a Facebook post that the books “[bring] back the origin of sports being practiced in the rural folks, encouraging children to be active fit and healthy.”

On June 16, Commissioner Hayco paid visit to the NCF Main Campus, timed perfectly for the launching of the Laro’t Saya sa Parke (LSP) initiative in Naga City and the landmark signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Naga City Government and PSC.

The books, titled ‘Aramon Ta: An Mga Kawat Kaidto,’ are original pieces authored by Mr. Christopher Cintura Asa and published by Towfee Book Publishing House in partnership with NCF.

Written in both Bicol and English with vibrant illustrations, the volumes highlight traditional games such as sipa base, luksong tsinelas, piko, chinese garter, insurektos, and syato.

At NCF, the books will be utilized as supplementary teaching-learning materials for Grade School pupils, underscoring awareness of local heritage, engagement in physical activities, and fostering reading habits.
