NCean journos score major wins in JournCamp+ nat’l campus press summit

Four campus journalists of The Naga Collegian (TNC), the official college student publication of Naga College Foundation, Inc. (NCF), were hailed as outstanding writers in sports and feature at the National Campus Press Summit (NCPS) held from November 17 to November 30, 2025.

Based on the results of the competition released earlier today, December 13, Maricar R. Nuiz and Lovely B. De Jesus impressively demonstrated NCean excellence and successfully etched their names in the second rank in Feature (Filipino) and Sports Writing (Filipino), respectively.

Also in the roll of top campus journalists were Karen Mae O. Celso who placed sixth in Sports Writing (English), and Maridel P. Oquialda who achieved the tenth place in Feature Writing (English).

The ExplainedPH JournCamp+: National Campus Press Summit is an annual virtual journalism camp designed to strengthen campus publications through capacity-building sessions that equip young journalists with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in today’s fast-changing media landscape.

This year, the organizer, ExplainedPH, combined seasoned practitioners with award-winning storytellers to give participants the chance to learn and engage with the best of ExplainedPH.
