Sustaining the momentum of its official universityhood transition launch on February 13, 2026, Naga College Foundation, Inc. (NCF) conducted an institutional benchmarking and exploratory visit to the University of Camarines Norte (UCN) on September 9, 2026.
The NCF delegation was warmly welcomed by UCN’s executive leadership, headed by Atty. Ryan L. Esteverez, University President, alongside Dr. Maria Cristina C. Azuelo, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Dr. Dolores C. Volante, Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Dr. Rosalie A. Almadrones, Vice President for Research and Extension.
Titled ‘Navigating the Universityhood Journey: From Compliance to University Status,’ the executive engagement provided NCF administrators with a comprehensive walkthrough of critical regulatory and operational frameworks, including Commission on Higher Education (CHED) University Forms 1–8, UCN’s documentary compliance strategies, CHED validation protocols, and key institutional lessons learned, during a knowledge-sharing session facilitated by Mr. Raniel D. Zabala, Director of the UCN Quality Assurance Office.
Following the plenary sessions, the delegation toured UCN’s campus facilities, including its advanced engineering laboratories, university gymnasium, and fabrication and manufacturing research center.
To translate high-level insights into practical roadmaps, specialized breakout sessions were conducted between counterpart officials, focusing on academic administration, research and extension, organizational development, quality assurance, and laboratory facility management.
The NCF delegation was led by Dr. Aida P. Osea, Executive Vice President for External Linkages and Internationalization; Dr. Nora Elizabeth F. Maniquiz, Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Dr. Alex H. Navarroza, Special Assistant to the President on Organizational Development—joined by assistant vice presidents, unit directors, and office heads.
Expressing profound gratitude for the warm reception and open collaboration extended by UCN leadership, NCF reaffirmed its institutional commitment to continuous quality improvement, leveraging inter-institutional partnerships to fulfill its vision of academic excellence and universityhood.
